The nursing leadership summit is a call to action for all healthcare leaders to focus on essential collaborative leadership needs in an effort to co-create a shared mental model of the new realm of academic-practice partnerships based on inquiry and experiential learning engagement.

The following objectives will shape the morning activities for the summit:

  • Discuss the challenges and opportunities associated with creating a shared mental model for the new realities in academic-practice-educational resource provider partnerships.
  • Establish a common understanding regarding the following concepts framing a shift from a traditional siloed, hierarchical mental model to a collective mental model of leadership.
  • Identify information from professional literature relevant to creating a shared collaborative mental model for expanding academic-practice partnerships to include educational resource providers.
  • Explain the essential nature of decision making, communication, and engagement patterns in creating the conditions and relationships necessary for successful collaborative partnerships.
  • Analyze case scenarios requiring constructive relational and conflict engagement among academic-practice-educational resource provider partners.
  • Articulate 3-5 key principles derived from the summit learning engagement that the participants perceive to be critical variables in a successful academic-practice partnership.
